Interactive Installation at Dundee Master Show
During this summer me and Joanna Deftoo have been invited to take part in an artistic residency in Sweden to collaborate with the polish artist and teacher Iwona Hrynczenko in the creation of an interactive installation for her forthcoming PhD exhibition at Dundee Masters Show, hosted by the VRC – Visual Research Center in Scotland.
Using a camera and some motion tracking tweaks in Pure Data we created a kind of space-time distorted mirror which allow user to play with the delayed shadows of themselves deforming their actual reality.
The real time of the user’s movements is delayed in a fake computed time, using 6 different layers of time analysis.
Users can play with their motion shadows creating artificial image of their bodies in a surreal time. The interactive system recognizes human presence and eventually take pictures of the user, upload it to the web and immediately screen it back to the exhibition place on a secondary monitor.
The Exhibition will be open Monday – Saturday 11am – 5pm
