Xth Sense Biophysical Music Workshops: Winter Sessions in Mexico, UK, Spain

The Xth Sense (XS) is a free and open source based technology; as such, its free distribution is an integral aspect of the research.
In this workshop participants build their own XS biosensor and learn how to generate interactive music from the muscle sounds of their bodies.

In september 2008 we were in Mexico, organizing the first latino-america edition of Live Performers Meeting – international meeting focused on audiovisual live performances, new sounds and vjing. It was “our” 6th edition but the first one outside of Italy, a great challenge for us of FLxER Team.

Trought many difficulties and a lot of energy and passion we finally built the event and we can consider ourselves pretty satisfied of the final result. The answer of the Mexican, Latino-American audiovisual artists has been amazing and we already accepted the help of many of them to build toghether the next mexican edition. Above all we are glad that all the artists and passionate involved in the developing of the meeting have experienced a unique time-space where to share knowledges, techniques and much more. Everyone showed us a great love, energy and will to build a network that can reach all the other countries over the ocean.

LPM MEX 2008 – LIVE PERFORMERS MEETING
4.5.6 SEPTEMBER 2008, Xalapa, Veracruz – Mexico

LIVE VIDEO PERFORMERS, VISUAL ARTISTS AND VJ MEETING

LPM – Live Performers Meeting: international meeting of live video performers, visual artists and vjs is ready to launch its first edition in America Latina!

For the first time LPM moves over the ocean from 4th to 6th September to meet the broad part of south-american community, who has always followed the meeting and the FLxER community since its first initiatives.

The Escuela Gestalt de Diseño and the MUTYE – Museo del Transporte y Exposiciones in Xalapa (Veracruz, Messico), will be the venues of this sixth edition of LPM.

LPM 2008 maintains the spirit of a meeting, which has been its main characteristic since the first edition. It is conceived to be a place for comparison and exchange of informations and ideas between vjs, visual artists, live-video performers and passionate of arts and digital technologies who usually meet in the “virtual” space of the net.

LPM is a no-profit organization and experimentation is one of the founding elements in our ideology, for this reason all the saved founds from the previous editions of the meeting are invested in the most innovative technologies to support the Event and to enhance the research activity in the live visual field.
